Troubleshooting Steps for How to Get Back into 'Hema Nav'

If your Hema Nav app crashes on startup—showing a black screen before returning to the home screen—follow these steps to fix the issue.

Step 1: Open the Files App

  • From the home screen, open "All Apps."

Step 2: Locate Internal Storage

Depending on your device, you may see one of two things:

  • If you see "FILES ON HX-2" → Continue to Step 3.

  • If you don’t see "FILES ON HX-2":
    1. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner and select "Show internal storage."
    2. Tap the three horizontal lines in the top-left corner.
    3. Select "HX-2."

Step 3: Locate and Delete the vstore.bin File

  • Once in internal storage, find and open "Android."
  • Open the "Data" folder.
  • Locate and open "com.hema.navigation."

  • Open the "files" folder.

  • Scroll down and find "vstore.bin."

  • Press and hold on "vstore.bin" until it is highlighted.

  • Tap the Bin icon in the top right corner.
  • A pop-up will appear confirming the deletion—press "OK."

Step 4: Return to the home screen

  1. Find the backwards triangle/arrow at the bottom center of the screen.
  2. Repeatedly press the triangle/arrow until you return to the "All Apps" page.
  3. Tap the back arrow in the top-left corner.
  4. Open Hema Nav mode and check if it launches correctly.

Option 2: Re-install Hema Nav licence

If the previous steps did not resolve the issue, another thing you can try is reinstalling the Hema Nav licence.

  1. Ensure the unit is connected to Wi-Fi, then open the Update Manager
  2. Long press Hema Nav - Licence[1], and press Download[2] on the menu that appears
  3. Wait a few seconds to allow the file to download.

    Note: There will likely be no visual indication that a download has taken place.

  4. Long press Hema Nav - Licence[3] again, and press Open downloaded file[4] on the menu that appears.

    Note: If this option does not appear, you may need to tap the date/time in the top left of the screen, press Clear Downloads, then try again from step 1

  5. You should then see a popup like the image below indicating the process was successful.

    Important: Launch Hema Nav once with Wi-Fi connected to allow the online activation of your licence. This will only be required once after updating or re-installing the licence file.
