Troubleshooting Steps for How to Get Back into 'Hema Nav'
If your Hema Nav app crashes on startup—showing a black screen before returning to the home screen— below are steps for two possible methods to fix the issue.
Method 1: Re-install Hema Nav licence
If the previous steps did not resolve the issue, another thing you can try is reinstalling the Hema Nav licence.
- Ensure the unit is connected to Wi-Fi, then open the Update Manager
- Long press Hema Nav - Licence[1], and press Download[2] on the menu that appears
- Wait a few seconds to allow the file to download.
Note: There will likely be no visual indication that a download has taken place.
- Long press Hema Nav - Licence[3] again, and press Open downloaded file[4] on the menu that appears.
Note: If this option does not appear, you may need to tap the date/time in the top left of the screen, press Clear Downloads, then try again from step 1
- You should then see a popup like the image below indicating the process was successful.
Important: Launch Hema Nav once with Wi-Fi connected to allow the online activation of your licence. This will only be required once after updating or re-installing the licence file.
Method 2: Delete vstore.bin
In early versions of Hema Nav there was an issue which would sometimes occur when the unit shut down during track recording. If a unit is having this issue, it can be resolved by following the steps below to delete the file that is causing problems.
- From the home screen, press Settings.
- Tab the third tab (Device), then scroll down and press the button labelled "Delete vstore.bin".
You should now be able to open Hema Nav without issue.
