Licence Validation Failed - Hardware Units

Important notice: Please DO NOT update the following versions on your hardware unit as this will cause issues with the device.

HX-2+: V1.1.5
HX-2: V1.5.6
AMHXD3: V1.1.6

If you have already done so, please contact appsupport@hemamaps.com.au or if you have the HX-2 or HX-2+, please see below for further instructions on possible quick fixes:

Screenshot_20240910-142848You will notice that a pop up message with “Licence Activation Failed” come up every time the unit is booted up from a shutdown.

Screenshot_20240910-143008To continue on from this page, you will need to click on "WiFi Settings" to connect to WiFi and hit “continue”, otherwise you will get “try again” and you’ll be stuck on the error message.

If you do manage to have a connected network and can hit “continue”, this will boot you back to the home screen.

From this point, please do not log out of your account, as you will not be able to sign in again to use the unit.

If possible we recommend sleeping the unit and not shutting it down, as turning off the unit will prompt the "Licence Activation Failed" message again and will require you to be connected to a network again to proceed.

If you have logged out / are stuck on the orange cards asking you to connect to WiFi / Sign in.

To remedy this issue, you will need to contact our support team here.

Hema will organise a process to retrieve your unit and rollback a working version, while keeping your data safe.

If this is not a viable option, (e.g. you're travelling) a quicker temporary resolution would be to perform a factory reset.

You should be able to continue to use your unit, however you will lose any un-synced data and you will not have the latest software and map updates after the reset.

(If you have the AMHXD3, please do not attempt a factory reset as this will delete the Hema software off the unit, instead please contact support)
