Hema Nav - Maps won't update

Are you trying to download the latest map updates, but the download keeps failing?

The most common cause of this issue is a lack of available storage space, meaning there isn't enough room to download the update without deleting something first.

To check whether this is the case, navigate to Settings.

From here, tap the third tab, Device, and scroll down to the Storage section.

On this screen, you’ll be able to see two important things:

  1. How much free space is available on your device.
  2. A breakdown showing how much space is being used by the Update Manager, your maps and any other downloads.

For the maps, you should expect them to use about 1600 MB of space. When updating your maps, your device needs at least this much space again, plus a little extra to complete the process. If there isn’t enough room, you will need to remove some files before starting the update.

To free up some space:

  1. From the same screen (Settings > Device), scroll down and press the Clear Maps button.

  2. Press Continue on the pop-up message that appears.

Warning: After doing this, you will have no maps until the update is complete.

  3. A message should appear at the bottom of the screen, showing how much space was recovered. This will also be reflected in the storage display mentioned previously.

  4. The Updates and Downloads can also be cleared if needed.
Note: This will only remove the installation files for updates, it won't uninstall the updates.

  5. You should now be able to retry the map download in the Update Manager.
