HX-2 - Why Are There So Many Orange Dots With Numbers in Them

To put it simply, these are Points of Interest (POI’s).

Your HX-2 uses clustering to reduce the amount of visual items on the screen to enable better viewing of the maps.

The number in the circle is a representation of how many POI’s are in that cluster, and as you zoom in to that area the cluster will split and the individual POI’s will be shown.

You can see on this view that around our location in Brisbane there are over 600 POI’s [1] in this particular cluster.

If we zoom in then you will the number in the cluster drops to 63 [2].

Then if we zoom in again you will see the individual POI’s render [3].

You can enable and disable clustering from the App settings menu.  To do this click on the App settings {4} icon in the top menu bar.

Once in the App settings scroll down to the Off-road / Adventure mode [5].  Click on the down arrow on the right [6] to open the settings. Scroll down till you see Enable Map Clustering [7]. To enable or disable Map Clustering click on the toggle on the right hand side.  This is shown in the Enable status.
