What is the Pro subscription?

The Hema Explorer Pro subscription is an extension to the standard Hema Explorer app, which is available on the Android and iOS platforms.

It is NOT a separate app (ie. there is no Hema Explorer Pro app distinct from the standard app).

What does it do?

The Pro subscription enables some additional features and content (which may change from time to time) within the app and the associated Hema Explorer Cloud.

For example, one of the things it does is allows you to access some additional map sources which are not normally accessible within the app.

If I have the app on multiple devices, do I need to buy a subscription for each device?

No!

The subscription is attached to your Hema Explorer Cloud account, which you use to login within the app and on the Cloud website.

Therefore, if you own multiple devices with the app installed on them (regardless of whether they are on the same platform or different platforms), as long as they are both logged in to the Hema Cloud account which has your Pro subscription attached, the app will have access.

If I have multiple devices under different app store accounts can I share the subscription using "Family Sharing"?

Both Apple and Google provide mechanisms which allow you to share apps with family members (try a Google search for specifics on your platform), but at the time of writing, this does not extend to subscription purchases.

You don't really need this anyway, as any device using the Cloud account which the subscription is attached to has access anyway.

How do I buy the Pro subscription?

See this article in the Knowledgebase which shows how to purchase the pro subscription.

How do I cancel my Pro subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by you via your app store account. We cannot manage subscriptions for you!

See this article in the Knowledgebase which shows how to cancel your subscription.

If I have a MONTHLY Pro subscription, and I want the YEARLY subscription, do I just buy the Yearly?

No!

You should cancel your current monthly subscription first, then purchase the yearly subscription once the monthly has expired.

I've decided I don't want or need the subscription, what do I do?

You need to cancel your subscription yourself, as outlined above. The subscription by it's nature automatically renews at the end of the subscription period. If you wish to cancel the subscription, you need to do so some time before it automatically renews. Both Apple (iOS) and Google (Android) app stores have their own rules governing the behavior of subscription, and while they are similar, it would be wise to familiarise yourself with the way they work, probably before you purchase any subscriptions.

If I cancel my subscription, will I instantly lose access to the Pro content?

No!

When you cancel a subscription you lose access at the end of the current subscription period.

ie. If you bought a yearly subscription in February 2018, and you cancelled it in March 2018, the subscription remains active until February 2019, when it will cease.

I want my money back for a subscription, how do I get a refund?

Sorry, but you cannot get refunds for subscriptions. As stated previously, it would be wise to familiarise yourself with the terms and conditions under which Google and Apple provide subscriptions.

While they will give refunds for apps under certain circumstances, they do not give refunds for subscriptions.
