This article assumes you are familiar with the process of updating your maps using Route66 Sync as detailed in this knowledgebase article.

It also assumes that you have created a Route66 account to use for performing updates, and making purchases within the Route66 software.

Overseas maps can be purchased directly from Route66 using the Route 66 Sync software installed on your PC. (Windows PC only)

You can download Route66 Sync directly from the Route66 website at http://www.66.com/

You can download Route66 maps for free using Route66 Sync, but to use the map for navigation on the Navigator, you will need to purchase a corresponding Drive & Walk file.

You can also purchase Safety Camera (fixed speed & red-light camera) files for most countries (where it is legal to do so).

Drive & Walk files & Safety Camera activations can be purchased for either 31 days or 1 year.

Purchases and downloads of Route66 maps are all done via the Route66 Store which is built in to the Route66 Sync software.

The Route66 Sync software also checks for updates of existing content and downloads them to your Navigator.

To use Route66 Sync on your PC, you will also need to download and install either:

  • ActiveSync (for WindowsXP PCs)
  • Windows Mobile Device Centre (Windows Vista & Windows 7, and Windows 8 PCs)
